Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Music is something us teenagers can’t live without. It entertains us while we practice math, or when we’re exercising, and for some people it even helps them through break-ups and their personal problems. Most teenagers listen to music which helps them relate. Sad songs during depression, happy songs when you’re feeling over the moon, love songs for a crush and so on. 

What absolutely disgusts me is what India’s standard of music has come down to. Honey Singh. He studied music in Cambridge, so you’d expect something decent from him. But no. What we get is: “Blue eyes hypnotize teri, kardi hain mennu.”

His songs are the most disgusting and revolting tunes I’ve ever heard in the name of “music”. The words 'disgusting' and 'revolting' are understatements. And saying his name in every freakin’ song of his isn’t going to make him anymore popular. It just makes him seem extremely narcissistic. But then again, I’m no one to judge. This is merely my opinion. It doesn’t even matter, because there are thousands out there who worship him as their music god. 

The worst which comes out of all of this is 7 year olds singing his songs at the top of their lungs not even knowing what they mean. God forbid they ever sing these songs in front of their parents. xD

I’m not saying that he’s not talented. He is talented. More talented than most of us. Personally speaking, I think the only reason he makes a living out of this crock of crap is because he’s the first Indian rapper.

And literally speaking, his dream girl would be something like:

The New Neighbor.

It was 2009. The 27th of August. Nimmi and I were playing and running around I the field like we always did. It was always the two of us.
That's when we saw a girl sitting on the swing, with a basketball in her hand. She was extremely thin and had big, round glasses. We went into the park but didn't talk to her. Finally, curiosity took over. This is how the conversation went:
Me: Hi.
She: Hello.
Me: What's your name?
She: Khushi. Yours?
Me: Anamika. Are you shifting here?
She: Yes.
Me: Which tower?
She: Tritiya.
Me: Oh, that's great! Even I live in the same tower! What's your flat number?
She: I don't know. I forgot.

That's when her dad came and she ran off.

That evening, we heard a commotion outside in the lobby. Wondering what it was, we opened the door. We saw some new people were shifting into the flat that had remained empty as far as I can remember. To my surprise I saw it was none other than Khushi and her family who were to be our new neighbors. :D
I was overjoyed because I had never had a neighbor before.

Today, almost 5 years later, I can't imagine what I would've done without her. I cannot imagine my life without Khushi. The way she has to prove her point, the way she debates, the way she closes one eye of hers in pictures, those big eyes of hers, I just can't imagine not having it all here with me.

She always stood by me, regardless of whether I was right or wrong. We've had fights, but then again, who hasn't fought with their best friends? I can't even call us best friends. It's more like sisters. :)

The weirdest part? She already invited herself to my wedding. It doesn't matter whether I'm having one or not. She's coming all the same. And on top of that, she's decided the venue, the caterers and all of that crap. :O :P

I want to write about all the crazy shit we've done together, but that'll take about a million years, and I don't have so much time. xD


So cheers to our friendship, and cheers to the crazy times spent together and many more to come. :D

10 Years And Counting.

 There is this one girl I don’t know what I would do without. Her name is Trina, but I’ve called her Nimmi since I was 4 years old, and it’ll always remain Nimmi for me.



I don’t remember how we met. But we lived in the same complex and went to the same school, so we our parents must’ve met each other somewhere, and thus we became friends. :P

There is not a single memory I have which doesn’t include Nimmi. She has ALWAYS been there for me no matter what. Yes, we’ve had more than our fair shares of fights, but when you’ve practically spent your whole life with someone, you’re bound to have fights.

She is the most beautiful person I have met. Not only on the outside, but even on the inside. Some people who don’t know her well enough like I do, assume she’s very rude because she says what she feels. It might be insensitive at times, but that’s what makes her so different from everyone else. People use her, take advantage of her and then leave her. Throw her away once her work is done. As Khushi said, she’s like a china doll. She breaks, but then a little glue will fix her. She’ll be as good as new. Maybe at times, she’ll snap at you, but that’ll only happen if you push her to her limits. And that is very difficult.



You see? Is she not beautiful? ^_^

And oh the sleepovers we’ve had. <3 I can’t even say how amazing they were. All the late night selfies where we look drunk and the videos. xD

I know I haven’t always been fair to her, and I’m really sorry for that. :(

I could write an entire book on her, but I’m too lazy to do that and no one’s probably even gonna bother to read through it. :P

Nimmi, I love you. Thank you for being there with me and for me. Thank you for keeping my secrets. Thank you for all the amazing memories. You’re one heck of a girl. <3 

An Amazing Friendship.

If anyone had asked me 2 months ago who my best friends were, I would’ve named a billion girls. But not a single guy. It’s not that I don’t like them or talk to them. I just never came across a guy who was good enough to be a best friend. Someone I could tell everything to knowing he wouldn’t tell it to anyone, someone who would make me laugh all the time, and also someone with whom I could have a deep conversation pouring my heart out.

There was this huge group of guys in my section in class 6. I never paid any special attention to them. I didn’t have a reason to. Amongst them was a guy named Pratyush. All I knew about him was he was the ex-junior head boy.

I joined Facebook about 2 months back. That’s when we started talking. And we haven’t stopped since. He seemed to be the most perfect guy best friend a girl could ask for. And yes, that’s what we became. Best friends.

The problem with our country is most of the people are sexist idiots. They don’t understand that a guy and a girl who are inseparable don’t have to be dating or don’t have to like each other. Pretty soon, rumors about the two of us spread like wildfire in school. But we didn’t give a damn about them. We didn’t have a reason to. That guy was and is someone I tell EVERYTHING to. Things that I previously couldn’t tell my best friends were the things I told him.  Our friendship is so amazing that we even knew each other’s Facebook passwords. :O :P

Over time, I realized that I liked him. But you know what? When I told him, he was totally cool about it. Some people I know would’ve freaked out if they got to know and would’ve stopped talking. But he wasn’t like that. He continued joking and laughing like he didn’t know. And I’ll be eternally grateful to him for that. :) 

I don’t know if he’ll be reading this, because I’m not going to give him the link to this blog because we're sort of in a fight now. But if you are reading it Pratyush, I just want to thank you for being there for me. You have taught me that an amazing friendship can be established in just 2 months. And I rarely ever say this to anyone and if I do, I mean it- I love you. Not as anything else, but as a friend. :)

An Introduction.

Hey there. :)

My name is Anamika. I’m a normal 13 year old teenager with a pretty normal life. And I'm always bored. It's extremely tough to entertain me.

Now most of my friends have blogs, and since I don't have anything to do, even I decided to write my own blog. It's nothing serious or anything. I'll just write about things that I find interesting or funny, or significant.

And it'll have lots of post about my friends because I wouldn't have been here today without them. :)
